Great to see the Doctor and Nurses crewing at Sandy saved one of their own.
Sensational job people.
Here......Here...... A sensational effort from those at the scene when it happened. Well done !!

So what did happen?

is the patient OK?
major heart attack - patient currently in induced coma - critical condition.

hope he pulls thru :(
Is this guy out of ICU/CCU yet?
Not sure of his location but word is he is making a good recovery. Round of applause to all involved, great work by good people! Smart move too by SYC to install the defibrilator after a similar event in the bar last year.

Do you think I could get a set of photocopies of the SYC emergency procedures? There is someone I want to give them to as an example.

Our defibrillator is usually behind two locked doors and nobody knows we have it anyway.

Oh and Phb, Fuck off.

Big puff through the fleet on the div 0 and div 1 course in the afternoon, lots of sail damage.IRC Div 0 winners were Cougar 11 (to be expected) in the morning, Chutzpah (good win on an up, down track) in th afternoon. Chainsaw won in Div 1 with their small spin from Challenge with their MH spin.

TE, thanks for the congrats on the dock after the race, we had our non regatta 2S up and about 5 seconds after we saw 30 knots T, it exploded.

I recon Rob on SR had a firm grip on the wheel when the breeze came up, he still had the big bag up and with TBG on the bow. Apparently they also Chinesed it 5 minute prior, my crew got cranky when I started to watch.

Didn’t see Don and Rossco during the race, were they racing div 0!

now let's not cherry pick those resultsRange series 2007-2008 div 1 over the line "Smooth criminal"

Heat 1..4th

Heat 2..2nd

Heat 3..4th

Heat 4..3rd

Heat 5..ABN

Heat 6..DNS...MUST OF BEEN OVER 20KNOTS :(

Heat 7..1st

looks like you were chasing some sterns at some stage Don
Quite right. I'm sure you're not interested in the specific reasons why that occurred in the earlier races e.g. small "IRC" rig (small main, small spinacker) as opposed to designed rig in latter part of season

Heat 6. Yes it was breezy, and we were short on crew. SC is not a boat to race in close quarters, in breeze, without key permanent crew.

I'm still waiting for someone to tell me which Div 1 boat from last season can match race SC other than Bullistic
looking at smooth criminals position before withdrawing the list would appear long.

I do believe you are an idiot balltearer. I don't believe Sat was a good indication of how boats perform. Challenge had time on fleet at last mark but made poor sail selection and came second as well as damaging a Medium #1. In essence they were out sailed not the boats fault but poor judgement.

so i'm an idiot because i reckon 38's are pig rooters?

mate, we've both done enuf miles on the things to know it's the case.

masthead kites wont change what goes on underneath now will they?

no more than prodders on 47's though eh?

might get them going earlier but they'll still trip over themselves at the same speed they always have.

X3

1) The most successful big boat 1 design in Australian history.

2) Elegantly easy to sail. Easy to maintain.

3) Stronger than the rocks (i.e. the Goat). Excellent offshore.

4) The most S.H. entries every year of any single design.

5) Comfortable to take the family out for a weekend when not racing

6) Relatively affordable

Mate, if your only criteria for whether a boat is a pig is that it has some mode where it needs good steering to go well then you'll never find a production boat that you'll accept.

If they are so friggin good, why are they all putting modifications on to keep them marginally competitive???

(At least they can handle a breeze over 15 knts though - hey SC)

Dunno how you define "all".

one or two boats decided to add the ability to use masthead kites.

The owners association voted against the mod at the last meeting, to be considered again in the future pending some research.

Anyway, what's wrong with changing or improving a fleet? I don't recall anybody bitching or whinging when the Farr 40 fleet decided to go masthead.

Personally, I'm not sure that I am anxious to change our boat to masthead - it may make the boat faster in light to medium downwind legs but the IRC rating change (evidently minimal) will be carried on every leg of every race.
