Anybody have a good make/model/diameter suggestion for a Melges 24 mainsheet? I thought that I might practice my eye splicing by making myself a new mainsheet. Thanks
Thanks for the tips! Those look like some great lines. I'm familiar with Coppa 5000 as I have some. Initially I freaked out at the prices but they sell by the metre so it's not as bad as I thought. I'm not afraid of spending money on the good stuff. Thanks for the suggestions. As always with sailing it is a question of how much money you are willing to spend.
First i would go with 8mm.
Here some line sugestions:
- Gleistein - RunnerTwin Olympic (Very good grip, quiet expansiv, VERY durable) (I think thats the best choice)
- Liros - Magic Pro (Good enough grip, very cheap, After 2 seasons you will have to buy a new one)
- Robline - Coppa 5000 (Very good grip, expansiv, pretty durable) (Havent tested it but people say its pretty good)
I would go with Gleistein Runner Twin. All of the ropes are splicable buts its not always easy but you will get it done.
Thanks. Looks like the max is 7mm thoughI have used Premium Ropes Race Grip Pro 8mm as mainsheet on my M24. It works well, nice to handle and easy to splice.

Thanks for the input. I like the Coppa 5000 and may go with that as I think the Nexus was different versions of white and I'd like something darker.Nexus Pro is ideal, expect it to wear out sooner than Coppa 5000, which is a bit stiffer, but probably my first choice for it.
