"Gullible" is not a real word.
Funny but truly disturbing
Have you ever noticed that a train will back up before going forward? This is because there is a small amount of slack, a few inches, between each car being pulled. If all of those little slacks are extended, the motors cannot produce enough torque to get the train going. By backing up they compress the slack, so when the train starts forward at first the first car is pulled alone, just for a few inches. Then it's momentum and the momentum of the engines pull the second car, and so on. The train can build speed as each successive car is pulled into motion, increasing the momentum of the whole train.it's also true , case in point diesel / electric trains.
whilst your show pony is building up the grunt to lift a wheel, with the aid of a judiciously placed bump, the electric has broken inertia on 100's of thousands of tons of dead weight.

This, not infinite torque, is how trains are set into motion.![]()
My granddaughter just told me she went to the Roger Waters concert. Nice that the younger generation appreciates the music. Her Dad is raising her right!
I've driven a McLaren F1 (belongs to a friend), but never felt anything like a Tesla Roadster. F'n nuts.True - but from the perspective of driving a car, I'd say 60,000 Lbs/Ft is as close to infinite torque as makes no difference.![]()
If the point is to see who can go the fastest in a quarter mile using one specific technology, then sure let the ICE's continue their glorious explosions. After all soccer players chose to play a ball sport where you can't use your hands. The drag car accelerating creates a soul stirring noise that is really primal...
Diesel train can certainly put out the decibels.
The electric car... meh.
Nitromethane dragster? Woohoo!
So the point really becomes, do you want to zip down the 1/4 mile the fastest? Or have the most fun.
That sort of racing is supposed to be fun and a spectator event. No place for the electric.
Electric taxi in NYC? Yes.
