remeber buying a "lid" of weed? i was never sure exactly what a lid weighed and thereafter amounts were always eighths, quarters and ounces and were continued to be called that even after you were actually getting, 3.5, 7 and 28 grams

supposedly a lid was an ounce but, in a hurry to complete the deal, a "four finger bag" was pretty close to the desired quantity.

not that i would know anything about that.
