Bought a Browning High Power the week after I turned 21. 14 shots are better than 7 or whatever the Luger held. Might not stop you in your tracks like the 45 though.
Civilian .45 and 9mm differs from military ammo in that military bullets are FMJ. Home defense ammo is not, and a lot more energy is delivered to the target regardless of caliber.

In our Squadron Operations Center we had a book by the Army Medical Corps about WWII wounds. It took a strong stomachs to look through more than a few pages.

Small arms wounds aren’t as terrifying as artillery wounds, but anyone would be hard-pressed to see a difference between .45 ACP and 9mmP wounds.

Later, took a course at Sig Academy and someone asked the ‘Stopping Power” question. The instructor pulled up a case in which a police team entered a building to be confronted by a man with a gun. The LEO shot him point blank with a 12 ga slug in the center of the chest. The guy turned around and ran up a flight of stairs before expiring.

Yeah, I spent four years of my life, mostly in Germany, practicing how to kill Russians with everything from .45’s to tank cannons and ATGM’s.

If this gets you excited, you would have loved the artillery and land mine wounds. Heavy machine gun tracers. Men blown to pieces. Men covered in red mist from what was left of their best friend.

Pretty fucked up outlook but it’s Sailing Anarchy, right?

I’ll give this story the benefit of my doubt….
However it is extremely difficult to understand

When they are in "display" mode, the seem to ignore anything else around them. Have a lot of them around the house and I can't get anywhere near them most of the time, but right now, they seem to ignore me and the dog, and unfortunately, the hunters that are poaching on restricted lands.
