Thanks (NOT!) for reminding me how long ago that was.Bad Boys Rape Our Young Girls But Violet Gives Willingly.
That was the one they taught us in the USN basic electronics school for resistor value color codes. I still remember it 54 years later.
Bet they don’t use that one anymore.
Oh heck I forgot some of it! Insert - Behind Victory Garden Walls - between “girls” and “but”……Thanks (NOT!) for reminding me how long ago that was.
We also learned the PC version: Black Birds Roam On Yonder Grass But Vultures Go West.
I’m sure there’s an app for it now, if there’s a need at all.
the cougar has a slightly longer wheelbase
I learned it as "Black bastards rooted our young girl, bloody virginity gone west". Class of '69.Bad Boys Rape Our Young Girls But Violet Gives Willingly.

Bad Beer Rots Our Young Guts, But Vodka Goes Well was what I was taughtI learned it as "Black bastards rooted our young girl, bloody virginity gone west". Class of '69.
Yes…..it does seem to be much more prevalent in youth and certain mostly male settings, and I’m not limiting that observation to just mnemonics. After some time I found it boorish and unnecessary. Funny critters we are. It’s interesting how the young invariably end up rude mnemonicS. To remember the cranial nerves, our predecessors had quite lofty ones based on the classics eg. On Old Olympus Towering Top A Friendly Viking Grew Vines And Hops…
whereas ours was… Only Old Officers Tug Themselves After Fucking Very Good Virgins After Hours.
A voluptuous young medical student helped us with that, so not entirely sexist ( he says rationalising himself).
Needless to say we remembered the latter. If you google it I’m sure you’ll see many others, though possibly not as risqué.
I have no idea how such a mnemonic would be viewed in an age which has issues with pronouns, and a desire to obliterate anything in history they can’t cope with. Though I’m sure that in some paralle uni there are some equally purple medical students thinking up similar mnemonics. Good luck to them.

Very true,we(men) may bemoan the fact that women are dictated by hormones, yet it’s us that are enslaved by that most constructive and destructive force of testosterone.Yes…..it does seem to be much more prevalent in youth and certain mostly male settings, and I’m not limiting that observation to just mnemonics.
