During the Vietnam era, 9.7% of Trump's generation served *in* Vietnam alone (plus another 2.5% in wider Asia and many more in the wider military).

He avoided the draft which might have been common enough but then went on to show gross disrespect to those who *did* serve (his views on John McCain being a 'loser' for being caught as a pow, the canned veterans' cemetery visit for example) and, to cap it off, focussed his Memorial Day musings on himself rather than the deceased.
His McCain comment was personal not general against the military . I was drafted and served in VN as a Army medic. I don’t hold anything against anyone for not serving, even those that turned their backs and ran to Canada .
Trump vigorously supports the military as every American should, it is a necessary part of life. Witness the Ukraine.
I agree about his turning his Memorial Day address into political speech.
But thaf is part and parcel with DJT, guerrilla tactics against the evil traitorous Deep State .

Cast your mind bank to 2020. In his own words and actions:
> Trump rejected the idea of the visit because he feared his hair would become disheveled in the rain, and because he did not believe it important to honor American war dead, according to four people with firsthand knowledge of the discussion that day. In a conversation with senior staff members on the morning of the scheduled visit, Trump said, “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.” In a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as “suckers” for getting killed.

Witness the Ukraine.
That would be the Ukraine that Trump does not support supporting.

That would be the Ukraine that Russia would not have invaded if Trump was in the WH

Conjecture.

I take it you've accepted that Trump is indeed no supporter of veterans.
Conjecture is what this joint runs on!
Trump is an has been a BIG supporter of the military, a strong military and military veterans .

You said he's a big supporter.
I gave you evidence he's not, by his own words and actions. That's not conjecture, that's evidence.

His own words set out a reluctance to support Ukraine (at best) and a willingness to support Putin taking over a sizeable chunk of it. Evidence, not conjecture.
