It's amazing what you can get used to. My wife makes me pizza with a cauliflower crust. It tastes like cardboard until you haven't had a real pizza for a while. Then it tastes like pizza.
Aren't those crusts basically fried cheese with some mashed up cauliflower for texture?

This is a thread drift I can get behind.
she also makes linguini with white clam sauce using some chick pea flour pasta. It's not inedible unless you let it get cold, try to reheat it, or fail to swaddle it with the requisite volume of sauce and parmesan. She keeps saying something about "I'd rather you not die soon". At some point I may prefer death over eating this shit.

Well, the Mighty Merloe and the Tritium finally depart, and now we have Snowflake and Orion at the dock in San Speedro! Orion came in about 0900 yesterday in a big blow, but caught a nice lull as they came into the dock. Nice to have some well taken care of boats in the hood! I heard that Snowflake is planning on heading north, next week. Might have to start a new thread

On the other end of the spectrum I had a wrestling coach that would order a pizza with no cheese. We almost came to blows over that, I simply refused to accept such an abomination. But the sick bastard actually ate it that way, said he got to appreciate it when cutting weight as a D1 college stud.
This is actually a thing in Rhode Island… and it’s not bad there, but then again RI has some serious Italian food.

After receiving a free $400k supership that he has to own for 3 years , you would think he would of paid the $50k insurance policy for the delivery, had he wrecked the boat he would have $400k, and if he made it to the east coast he would only owe $50k.
I have respect for Don to take a trip to Boston for his anniversary while his boat is in peril,as i just missed my wife's birthday, and valentines day to rescue two different boats, I am just not that smart.

Mr. Lawson absolutely deserves all the ridicule thrown his way but come on… he does not deserve it for taking care of his relationship with a spouse. That should come first. Gotta disagree with you Multihuler.

It's not that he's taking care of his spouse, it's that she puts up with him just at mine puts up with me. Of course I always remember Valentine's Day, generally her birthday, and occasionally our anniversary. Now she wants a bowsprit and code zero for the boat. I'll do what I can:)

I also disagree with my choices, just can't help myself , and yes my wife is wonderful, except the boat issues

Who's saying he's abandoning the boat? I'm saying it. Me. Munt. Of course that's just speculation on my part and if proven wrong I will happily proclaim my inability to judge human nature or accurately predict the future and congratulate him with all due respect and in sincere humility. I honestly believe that MM is a savage beast that truly elite singlehanded sailors wouldn't touch with a 10 meter carbon fiber pole. When I imagine trying to reef or change a headsail on that thing alone, in 35 knots at 3 in the morning I have to take a hot bath and a long nap just to regain my tenuous equilibrium. If you, Mr. Simpson, believe that the Captain will get the boat off the beach in Mexico and then all the way up the US east coast and start setting records then... well Sir, I'll buy you and the Captain as many drinks as you can handle and an extra large pizza (one topping) when it happens. I believe the Captain bit off way more than he can chew and is left with few reasonable options. I reiterate, I hope he can use his charm and charisma for good, healthy causes and wish him all the best in life.
Mr. Munt, If I read your post correctly, then to abandon one's boat would mean to leave it where it is and leave the area permanently, or to scuttle the boat and not return to recover it.

I would say that if you walk the talk, and I don't know you at all, then you will prove to not have the ability..."to judge human nature or accurately predict the future and congratulate him with all due respect and in sincere humility". Who knows what will happen, time will tell. I hope the boat will heading out of Mexico in the coming months.

Mr. 96elur, congratulations, you have accurately defined the term "abandon!" As to the rest of your post and my ability to walk and/or talk I must assume that this is a convoluted attempt to disagree with my assessment of the situation. I will add you to my pizza and drinks list if the Captain achieves any of his stated sailing goals. Please inform Mr. Clean of your toppings preferences.
