Very nice gains in position from Kéni Piperol from the start, hope he gains 1 or 2 places more.

And what is also very impressive is that the first serie boat (Erwan Le Draoulec) is 3rd or 4th overall !

Lipinski averaging 12 knots for the last 24 hours!  2kts faster than the guys behind him.  Somebody knows their boat.

Looks like Jorg is going for the split with a southern option still open to him.  Seems like a pretty clever bet in his position if he commits to it.

Yeah, seems like the rhumb line is a little soft compared to banging either corner, with a little more pressure south.  Camille seems committed too.  Fun to watch.

Serie is giving much more interesting racing. Big split coming up either side of the rump line it seems. The northern route looks a lot more technical vs heading for the trades to the south.

There is a possibility that the Northerners will have trouble to get Southing in without hurting boatspeed.

Its a nice game... Jog or Ian, Ian or Jorg ???

Respect for the guy that repaired his broken mast and set out again...Dorel Nacau.

Technical question: at what point do we start considering a mini a scow?  Here's 4th placed Sideral.

For me a scow is flat nosed, but I think Raison himself called it a scow bow.

Its more then a very rounded bow and U shaped underwater body, that has been around longer (FF65 DeRidder design), even before Minis (Pogo1) used it.

This Bertrand looks almost normal compared to the Raisons.

It sure makes putting the numbers on easier :)

Looking more like the southern route is going to get stuck on the outside of a shift now though.

The south is going well for Jörg, he's got 2nd now.

The 931 Sideral has a really blunt bow, but I would not call it a scow.

Nevertheless, the first pointy bow would be just behind with Kéni Piperol at the helm.

In the Series fleet it appears that Le Draoulec has jibed to starboard, in my book it appears he is spending quite a bit of his lead over Cremer. Breaking the golden rule of not staying between his competition and the mark. My guess is he going to lose 30 miles over the next 8 hours?
