We have threads for craigslist and those with patreon accounts but nothing for reddit.

As an aged millennial I enjoy the occasional dive into reddit sailing dreams and delusional Gen-Z noob psyche.

Contrary to the rest of reddit /r/sailing has improved slightly over the last couple of years. It used to be much worse.

About four years ago they had a hype about posting pictures of heeling sailboats. Literally sailboats heeling. Got them all worked up for a couple of months. Sunsets still do well.

Some of the more easily worked up members are in the discord server, you can see some real meltdowns there.

Reddit has been unreadable trash for years now.

I see random clueless noob posts on sailing related Facebook groups that are horrifying. Usually there is some cranky boomer chewing them out though.

There was a guy on /r/sailing who kept posting pictures of his Hans Christian 33T. That’s all I remember. Any trends recently?

Also, how does the HC33T have such a roomy and clever layout? It’s a double ender too, doesn’t seem possible - truly a TARDIS in teak.

There was one from someone totally new to sailing who could_not_beileve that the seller wouldn't let him try out the boat for a weekend. Starts a thread looking for sympathy.

I saw this earlier tonight and felt bad for this poor person. First, the yard drops their boat. Then, more than half of the commenters refuse to believe that laws and regulations work differently outside of the US. Who knew?

Probably the guy who won the auction for one on Cooper Specialty Salvage about 6 months ago. It is pretty roomy for a small double ender.

I confess to browsing R/sailing daily. Interesting combination of complete novices and experienced sailors. Kind of like R/woodworking- and Reddit in general.
