I think we are in a new golden age of cinema. Sure, there are a *lot* of crap films, but the good ones are truly outstanding.

Just in the last few weeks I have seen Everest (in 3D!), Bridge of Spies and The Martian. All very good.

Bridge of Spies was really good as was the Martian.

One of the funnier movies if you have a twisted sense of humor is "Trainwreck". I laughed my ass off even though it was fairly predictable. NOT a family movie.

Spotlight was far better than I expected it to be. I can see why it won the Oscar. No standout individual performances but a well told story by a solid cast. I continue to be impressed with Rachel McAdams. She was at the top of my spank bank after Wedding Crashers, but she's done some really gritty roles lately that have made me take her seriously as an actress. She was great in True Detective Season 2.

I haven't seen The Revenant yet with Leo. I really want to see that one!

The Room was excellent. Great premise, Oscar worthy acting (the kid was terrific).

Just saw Whisky Tango Foxtrot, loved it. Tina Fey nails a slightly more serious role. This flick covers the addictive nature of the adrenaline rush, kinda explains why a lot of us keep abusing ourselves on our boats.

Star Wars sucked donkey balls. Really bad on many levels.

Morena Baccarin needs to get on the screen more. Small role in Spy (which was hysterical) left you wanting more Inara.
