Win win. Drugs used to be "victim-less crimes." Not anymore.

Chuck Todd just asked the smarter senator from FL, to effect of should FL stop allowing mobile/modular homes in FL? Same q to NC gov who kinda answered "all things on the table."

Now that is thinking outside the box. Rebuilding in flood zones shouldn't require the rest of us to repeatedly fork over tax money. Maybe housing/emergency recovery should be a states' rights thing.

I saw that. The Senator suggested it should be county by county. Todd asked if the state should step in.

And Scott really did some tap dancing, while IMHO still waving the "States Rights" banner.
There are already strings tied to rebuilding, there obviously (to me, anyway) should be more.

Sure as long as we all accept that it's blue states role to bail out red states. Happens every day, red states are the takers.

I saw Gov. Cooper but didn't hear his whole message. IMHO mobile homes are cheaper and lend themselves to modular rebuilding. Plug a mobile home into a harder grid, be prepared to roll it out in the event of mandatory evac. Or replace at your own expense. Cheaper for all, less enviro impact cleaning up the "house puke" all over the wetlands, too.

Ron and Abbott could get together on the displaced people thing. If Abbott wins again there will be many homes vacant as all the Texan women, the smart hipsters and techies buy elsewhere and work remotely at Apple, Oracle, and others in Austin. One of my kids works in Portland ... remotely from the family compound cabin in the North Woods.

Couple of thoughts. Blues helping reds was back in the old days when we were the united states. Now, in this pre-war period, let's allow the reds to live on their own money as a taste of what's to come.

Modular homes have no wheels so there's that. And the ones that are mobile, when new at least, require a big truck. Even bigger than Bubba's.

There's a small Black community in downeast (NC) of working class Joes and Josies. 98% of homes are solid and on stilts. Mean elevation of the ground is zero' and they front the sound. As well, these are blue collar guys and gals with lots of implements and equipment. Betcha being last on the list for state help has made them all but self-sufficient.

Archives: Records from Trump WH staffers remain missing

The National Archives and Records Administration informed lawmakers that a number of electronic communications from Trump White House staffers remain missing, nearly two years since the administration was required to turn them over.

The nation's record-keeping agency, in a letter Friday to the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, said that despite an ongoing effort by staff, electronic communications between certain unidentified White House officials were still not in their custody.

"While there is no easy way to establish absolute accountability, we do know that we do not have custody of everything we should," Debra Steidel Wall, the acting U.S. archivist, wrote in a letter to Oversight Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y.

The letter went on to specify that the National Archives would consult with the Justice Department about how to move forward and recover “the records unlawfully removed.”

Those that took out college loans are fully responsible for them.
Those that lack proper insurance for their homes are entitled to relief.
Is any of the aid going to help people who didn't have insurance? Or is it funding for all the cleanup work that needs to happen - getting roads, utilities, hospitals, schools, and other critical infrastructure back in shape?

We only bombed a couple weddings in Afghanistan. That’s good enough target selection, right?
Only a couple?? That's a damned high % success rate. Besides if the bride and groom and all the wedding party didn't have slung AK-47s and RPGs on their backs during the reception, it might have actually "looked" like a wedding party.

Just saying.

I’ve seen American rednecks carry at a wedding, even before Trump.
