Actually got out two days ago for a short ride near the house. Rode in the 4mile area. It's all dirt roads, two track and some single track. We stuck to the roads as anything else would be impassable. Right now it's pretty much just local jeep type guys up there, pretty snowy. One particular north facing hill was a bit of a challenge but we made it.

This guy RTW Paul is pretty bad ass. He is riding all over the world. Recently he had some time to kill while moving his moto somewhere so he decided to ride across the US and back on a postie type bike. In this case it was a new Honda CT125. Why not.

Thats akin to those folks who cross oceans in 9’ boats. For what reason I’ll never understand.

I'm not as awesome as most of you guys. Heck, I'm not as awesome as my younger self. My riding lately has been for bike winterization. Rather than actually doing anything I just do a little riding through the winter as conditions allow.

I need your unique set of skills. I have to get to work re-assembling my CB650 this Spring.

It really is "figure it out on the fly" for many things. On the wheel lacing, the rim has the holes canted left and right (once you realize it) and CW/CCW. Fabbing seat and side cover mounts was another adventure. Tank and other body parts go for paint next week. Clutch cover is polished and goes on soon when swing arm is reinstalled and chain (cleaned) goe back on. Brakes need a caliper kit (on order) and new pads and stainless steel brake lines, both on hand.

I'll be keeping you on speed dial! I have the Honda wheels, solid spokes, well I also have the original spoke wheels but I had the solid spoke wheels powder coated for a company look. I was going to use the bike for a display bike for my ski company trade show booth. Frame has been stripped of some of the less necessary parts like the center stand and it was powder coated gloss black. I got a new tank too and had that painted. Now I need to assemble it all again.

Spent last weekend at the track at Daytona for the 200 Superbike race. MotoAmerica has a great program there, with General Admission tickets and was able to have pit access and walk the grid minutes before the race. I watched the race from Victory Lane where there was a big screen to see the action on the track and a great view of the finish line.
With 7 laps to go, the leader Espinosa was robbed!
An experience I will never forget.

Interesting is most racers I see that have died are when they have grown too old to run hot laps on scoots and moved on to cars. Still have the balls to the walls fire in their belly.
Then you have to flat out crazies like the Isle of Mann TT. Lost 5 last year alone.

I got into sailboat racing after an "event" with another bike at 115 mph. Figured it was Jesus offering up a wake up call..

I use to race with CCS that went to Daytona twice a year, March and October. Seems someone died each time. Daytona sucks for motorcycles. The banking, trioval, chicane and turn one are a thrill though.

A lot of people that race long enough end up walking funny.

Switched exclusively to WERA before getting too old and too poor. I do walk a bit funny though.

I remember a column by Peter Egan about attending a bike race wherein he referred to the riders having "an interesting and varied assortment of limps and gaits".
