News didn't have the cause, anyone know? It says started at "Seaport Marine Warehouse"? Spontaneous Combustion from wood finishing products???
Bought some tung oil for furniture refinishing, then returned it after reading the warning!!

way too early for speculation, billy, given that the firemen weren't released from the scene until 2 am. 4 alarm fire, understand the restaurant wasn't damaged. Given how long Seaport Marine has been in existence, I am pretty sure they know the 'dangers' of linseed oil.

That building was built with very very well seasoned wood. When I was in there last in 2014 it was evident that it was from a different era of fire safety.

Someone on the C&C forum reported that there was a failure of the electric neutral connection in the power feed from the building to the docks. All the slips in the marina lost power the day before (or day of the fire since it was overnight).
