Long hair and youth and low-riding, loose cotton harem pants don't make a hippie chick. Just a very pretty, apparently free-spirited and carefree young girl. Of which the world needs all it can get.

There haven't been real hippie chicks for decades, except perhaps in some backroad communes on Kauai. Sad but true.

Much to the benefit of my youthful memories and a sad loss in my currently sagging state, I lived and truly enjoyed the late 60's and early 70's.

Hippie chicks figure greatly in the memories. There was even a Suzanne who lived on a Seattle houseboat. And many a summer night strolling the Panhandle in the Haight.

Hippie chicks, Woodstock 1969...

Very pretty, stylishly summery California girls will always be a highlight of humanity's possibilities.
