I don’t recall saying you’re an asshole.
He apparently asked you rhetorically, he seems to agree with you on this.

Sweden did what they felt they had to do, the USA, Canada, and the rest of NATO (obviously excluding Turkey) then did a whole lotta nothing and let the Kurdish people get dropped by the side of the shithouse in the name of political expediency.

Why?

Obviously, the world is still contaminated with thought like your thought ... no skin off of our back to dump ethnic minorities next to the shithouse in the name of political expediency. Do people like you want to murder and oppress ethnic minorities? Likely not, you are advanced and sensitive humans obviously. But stand hands-in-pockets while someone else does that, or step in to prevent it from getting worse while you still have the chance? No way, "they" are not coming for you, obviously. "They" are coming for the Kurds and the Jews, the Sufis, the homosexuals, the Romani, Armenians, Ughyurs, oh, and the Ukranians.

The irony here is that you need to avoid Finland's take on this though, if you are even still reading ...

Finland handled the Soviet invasion of the Winter War while Sweden and the rest of the world refused to help. Unlike Sweden, they didn't warm to the idea of another country dictating their internal policy on Kurds. (And regardless your ability to shrug it off, Sweden's decision has led to a shitstorm in their parliament, when a key member who is Kurdish, tried to stop this.) But Finland took a variation of @BeSafe 's suggestion and they have offered to buy Turkish war tech instead of dropping a deuce on the heads of Finland's own Kurds.

This all happens while Russia and Turkey build their own U.N. agreements. These chances to do something helpful, show Turkey that their Kurd policies won't propagate, when we do nothing, as you advocate, bad ideas win.

Is there a mechanism to boot out Hungary and Turkey?

There is a mechanism to stop the flow of support Euros to Hungary, but that may not be needed.
Hungary is supposedly going to vote on it in the new year. If they are still fucking around at that point, they should be looking at leaving NATO.

It's hard for me to understand why Orban feels the need to appease Russia after 1956 and all. The only sense I can make if it is A. NATO did squat for Hungary back in the day, so NATO should do squat for Ukraine now. B. George Soros is Jewish, and it is alleged that he is going to force all Hungarians to switch genders-or something like that.

He's playing both sides of the game here, and it could end very badly for him. When Ukraine wins, it could start another Arab Spring in the Russian frontiers.

You're right to bring up 1956. I'd add maybe C. Hungary has a genetic memory of being relevant as part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Given that Hungary has nixxed NATO membership for Sweden and Finland, I don't see how Ukraine ever joins.

Well shiiiiiit. I'm going to be eating crow from Canadians over this one, and only one, proselyting stand.

Finn's supporting a knee jerk 180 political stance, because of a partying PM with social influencers...it's been awhile, it is definitely not the same Finland I enjoyed.
