it brinegs on manney changes........

The director had his son write the lyrics for "a dumb song about suicide" which the son delivered in about five minutes.

The son made ten times what his father made directing the movie from this songwriting credit.

Easy listening versions likely still playing in 1000 elevators as you read this.

Producers and directors love to write lyrics to movie/TV show themes, as they get a royalty each time the song is played, even if used only as an instrumental. Gene Roddenberry knew this so that's why the theme for the original Star Trek has lyrics, though never performed.

M.A.S.H. is a great 70s era movie. Watch it again if you haven't for a while.

"Beyond The rim of the star-light.
My love Is wand'ring in star-flight.
I know He'll find in star-clustered reaches.
Love, Strange love a star woman teaches.
I know His journey ends never.
His star trek Will go on forever.
But tell him While he wanders his starry sea.
Remember, remember me."

- Gene Roddenberry

Lyrics, Star Trek Theme, original series

...‘Fuhgeddaboudit’ is like if you agree with someone, you know, like Raquel Welch is one great piece of ass, ‘fuhgeddaboudit.’ But then, if you disagree, like a Lincoln is better than a Cadillac? ‘fuhgeddaboudit!’ You know? But then, it’s also like if something’s the greatest thing in the world, like mingia those peppers, ‘fuhgeddaboudit.’ But it’s also like saying ‘Go to hell!’ too. Like, you know, like ‘Hey Paulie, you got a one inch pecker?’ and Paulie says fuhgeddaboudit!’

But sometimes it just means, ‘fuhgeddaboudit’...

"A lady loves to love..."

A lady loves expensive clothes, and pretty jewels and furs and french chapeaus
She loves her lingerie in black, it suits her zodiac
Loves a penthouse where she'll be content to stay
Finds little gifts on her breakfast tray
But now and then pack and sail away
For a simple Riveria holiday
A lady loves beaucoup l'amour, but first of all she loves to be secure
And she adores the subtle phrase, that it's the man who pays
Yet there is one vital thought she will place above, all the things I mention of,
That most of all, a lady loves to love.
