Every fucking day someone from Brooklyn named Avramowitz or Blesofsky or Goldstein gets pinched for fraud. We make up 0.05 of the population but get charged with 30% of the financial crimes, I fucking hate it.

Well, Jewish people work together financially, unlike all the rest of us who try to make it on our own, Latinos aside. I can imagine the desire to keep just a little bit for myself and getting addicted to the income. The difference between the Hasidic and Orthodox around here is that the Orthodox will speak with gentiles and socialize with us to a degree in a neighborly fashion. The Hasidic ignore us and only interact with us to transact a purchase.

That's both racist and inaccurate, just so you know. There are factual reasons so many jews are in finance, and there are jews who prefer to work with other jews just like there are jews who won't work with jews. The fundamentalists all go to shul or temple daily so they have lots of face time to talk business, but the vast majority of US jews do not.
Personally I try not to work with hasidim for lots of reasons, but mostly for the same reason I try not to work for fundamentalists of any stripe.
My best friend here in Vermont was a full-on brooklyn hasid until he turned 25, and then he ran for the hills and married a goy from arkansas.

Both daughters are in Chucktown so we visit often. The unbridled construction in the greater area is mind blowing!!! A few years ago there were 75 familes a day moving into the area, and probably more now. It seems that traffic in Mt. Pleasant and other areas will only be getting worse, and it doesn't seem like tidal and other wetlands get the same care and preservation as up north. Just curious if and when this boom will end, and what it will be like then........

Well, I may be ignorant in how I see it and I’m not attempting racism, but I read a few studies over the past few years about which groups work together for the good of their community and others don’t. I’m glad your friend got away and is enjoying life.

We all have preconceptions in our heads from our parents, schools, whatever, i don't blame you for it.
Just know that any time you write or say "[Race or Ethnicity] people are [preconceived characteristic here]", it's racist by definition. Same as saying 'you people'. I do it with christians, and while they are not a race, i'm not particularly proud of it.
Instead of "Jewish people work together", you can say "Jewish people are more likely than most other religions to work/marry/live with other Jews" and it would be accurate and not racist.

Since this thread has turned toward a discussion of racism, the misnomer for the Civil War above is today mostly used in jest. Sometimes not. But, it is important to point out when it came to be and why it came to be:
"The name "War of Northern Aggression" has been used to indicate the Union as the belligerent party in the war. The name arose during the Jim Crow era of the 1950s when it was coined by segregationists who tried to equate contemporary efforts to end segregation with 19th-century efforts to abolish slavery." - Wikipedia

I was fairly shocked when I learned that a significant portion of the deep south still believes the confederacy was right. It contributed to my desire to leave, even though the sailing, the fishing, and all my friends there made it the perfect place for me. Mer had been looking to get out for a while. Too redneck.
A bit after Trump won in 2016, I was studying for the Michigan bar exam, and I took a long break one day and devoted it to trying to understand why he really won. Part of my journey (and procrastination) was re-listening to the entire Ken Burns' Civil War series, which is made up largely of first-hand sources read by voice actors. The further I got through it and the more I heard the same arguments from the 1850s that I hear from trump and his cartel, the more I began to understand that the single driving force behind the MAGA movement was the same thing that drove the confederacy. There is literally nothing driving today's GOP other than racism, sexism, and religious discrimination against anyone who ain't christian.
I highly recommend listening to it, if you haven't in a while. Part 1:

On a bit of a lighter note, I used to live in Wilmington, NC and would attend the SAYRA Summer regattas on Charleston Harbor with my Laser (1980's). At one regatta, some class had recently held their NA's / US Nationals and a funny story was told in the boat park.
On an off-day, a crew from somewhere in the North took a carriage tour of downtown Charleston. When passing along the Battery, one person, after looking at the Civil War era mortars along the Battery, told the tour guide "now I know why the south lost the Civil War, all of your barrels where filled with cement (of course to keep people from tossing trash in them). The tour guide didn't find that very funny and threatened to kick the person off the carriage".
