As I understand it BEYC is back up and running...at what capacity I’m not sure...anybody been there since it re opened?

Many thanks for your response to me, Semper Windy. That was incredibly helpful. I have marked each of the places you've mentioned to investigate.
We have not pinned down the boat yard but I believe it's going to be the Safe Harbor City Boatyard up the Wando River. I expect to be on the hard for 3 weeks or so as the boat gets commissioned- and there's lots to do as I've purchased all my sails and electronics separately, and all require installation; and I'm adding a spinnaker pole and and inboard pole lift track on the mast- to name just a couple commissioning projects.
After we splash, I need to find a berth for at least a month, as I shakedown the vessel, calibrate instruments, add a bunch of safety, galley and cruising goodies, etc., and just try to figure out my new aqua-beast.
I'm so excited I can hardly sit still. Again- thanks for your friendly and helpful guidance.

Safe Harbor is a good choice, or Cooper River boat yard. Might be getting busy with CRW coming up. The mumm 30 registered and the 2x Cape 31's are planning to be there from what I heard

Didn't even know there was a Safe Harbor that far up the Wando! Hopefully good rates - but as Cat 1 said, get something locked in before boats head down for CRW!

ChYC has female members & the new Daniel Island YC is offering a limited # of moorings for race week this yr.
I think the "south" has moved a lot further north from there, at least along the east coast.
I went to look at a couple of boats in Cooper River about 6 years ago. Only time I have been to Charleston, unfortunately. Had me wondering how people handle the currents around there in a 5knt SB.

Thanks! My yacht broker has had a few previous new boats commissioned at Safe Harbor and had very good experiences, and better, they are a dealer for the Tides Marine Strong tack luff track- one of my "must haves."

CORA, ChYC, Hobcaw, Charleston Community Sailing all have women members, women on the boards and current or past women commodores. Same with every other YC in the rest of SC, (outside of Charleston) NC, and GA. Which is also the SAYRA Region under US Sailing.
