That’s chump change compared to cities bidding for these games. Bids will be required as a package. Oh you want the 2032 Super Bowl? You have to have the AFC championship game in 2030 first and the NFC championship in 2034 How much will you pay us to host these games?

Then what will Budweiser pay to have their name mentioned every time the NFC Championship is mentioned on the air?

The one with the best bubbas in front of him! I saw a bit of the Bengals and Bills game. I cannot remember the last time I saw the Bills getting blown off the ball in the snow. That’s their big home field advantage, and their guys were getting trucked. The line of scrimmage decides the game at this time of the season.

The NFL was a tax-exempt 501(c)6 non-profit until 2015 or so. Essentially they were a trade association for the 32 teams which were for-profit, but the league themselves were not-for-profit.

Many don't realize they voluntarily relinquished this status in 2015. On one hand, it exposed them to taxes. But it also let them close the books and get rid of public reporting requirements for things like the commissioner's salary and income and expense numbers.

The whole thing was generating distracting bad PR while politicians were exploring bills to change their status, and was considered a good move for the league and teams.

The weird thing about that was that was our cobbled up line, after losing one starter from the O-line each of the last three weeks. And it looks like this will be the same line that faces KC, as Williams and Kappa didn't practice yesterday and the third guy is done for the season anyway.

But they looked good, Burrow had lots of time in the pocket, and we put up over 150 yards rushing on the Bills, something we've not done that often this year.

People sleep on the Bengals a lot. Even last weekend, people were shocked to see how the Bills got manhandled on both sides of the ball.

For whatever reason, we are often overlooked for everything from All Pro (All Pro Bengals this year {2022}: None, 2021: also none), Pro Bowl (3 this year, when the the 3 conference round teams have 19 between them), Coach of the Year (not even a nomination), PFWA Awards (nope), etc. etc.

The only real accolade we took last year was Comeback Player for Burrow, and Offensive Rookie for Chase. Burrow is in the running for MVP this year, but that's not happening and we all know it.

I think the utter lack of recognition by the wider football media for pretty much anyone but Joe Burrow and occasionally Jamar Chase makes people think we're not a terribly talented or deep deep.

And we say...keep thinking it. At this point we're more interested in winning games than pundit polls.

Bengals, obviously. We're clear underdogs, the Cinderella story, looking for our first well-deserved SB win after a stunning turnaround in our team.



If nothing else, from a historical perspective, they shouldn't be allowed to beat us in the SB a third time.

The thing about the niners is everybody is a threat to run. Debo, McCaffery, and now Purdy. It's perhaps a bigger problem for defences than having a Derrick Henry is.

Mahomes cleared the last injury report, but Kelce showed up as Questionable with a back issue.

Both games should be excellent.
