In both games defenses made stupid penalties and the one that gave it to KC was pathetic. I wouldn't want to be sitting next to him on the plane ride home.

KC needs to get a bunch of guys well in just 2 weeks.
It would have been a different result of Ossai's dumb hit were offsetting either of the uncalled holds that let Mahomes scramble in the first place.

Crest la vie. On to figuring out free agency, the draft, and how we're going to pay Burrow roughly the GDP of Tonga over the next decade without blowing the cap.

Reports now coming in that Brock Purdy suffered a torn UCL. Surgery will be needed. Hope is that it can be repaired and does not have to be reconstructed. Repaired holds out the chance of his being ready for the start of the season.

torn UCL is better than ulnar nerve damage. Ulnar nerve damage can be unrepairable.

Is Burrow just getting an extension? Because if so, probably at least next year you won’t be suffocated. Great QB’s are the curse of every team, the GM has to be superior in getting great talent cheap.

Some penalties are harder to see than others - holds for instance especially in the trenches. Shoving a player when he is out of bounds is easy and stupid and serves no purpose but to try and injure. Easy for me to comment as I had no dog in the hunt. I have always enjoyed Mahomes play, Hurts is from a Houston suburb so kind of a home town guy. The fun part is it is Kelce vs Kelce, may the best Kelce win. Hope for a good game with no injuries.

Oh yeah, the team announced weeks ago that extending Burrow is going to be one of the first off season priorities.

Ever since Mike "Cheapkate who shouldn't be allowed to run a convenience store" Brown turned over major management his daughter (Katie "Fuckin' Awesome" Blackburn) we've been planning for this.

You don't draft talent like this without a plan.

But I'm not sure how long we can keep Chase, Higgins and Boyd together. Chase is staying forever, but Higgins or Boyd could both step in as a WR1 on another team and they're going to cost us.

My money is that Tyler Boyd, one of the few pre-Burrow vets left on the offense, is going to get priced off the team, and he's older. Higgins is on the same contract year as Burrow, Chase is a year behind and they're both very young.

Happens when the ref who is supposed to be watching the trenches isn't.

Or like calling "intentional grounding" when the grounded pass almost bounces to one of our running backs...

Burrow and Chase will retire as bengals, if the Bengals are smart. It's really hard to keep a team together, any team, as the contract situation changes things so fast. Look at the Rams, from Hero to Zero in less than a year.

Yeah, the handwriting was on the wall about the Rams last year. If you looked at how they put that team together and cross-checked the numbers, them coming apart like the Bluesmobile right after the season was almost inevitable.

Mortgaged the future to win the trophy, any owner would do it if it pays off.

The winner of the Super Bowl will have more Ws in Arizona than the Cardinals this season.

This may be the 1st SB with both QBs from Texas - Tyler and Channelview. There was an Op/ed on Mahomes the other day starting with his career in jr high school and showed what a class guy he is, sorry I can't locate it. Hope he is healthy and the game is epic.
