Kinda tough to beat when your back-up tender is currently running a 120+ shutout streak
maybe the only hope is Marchand has a bozo outbreak, gets suspended, pisses the other team off so much the play super human and the rest of the Bruins get rattled...hey, that's possible.

remember when the Wings had the best record, Presidents trophy and lost to the Ducks? Strange things happen but I got to give Boston a nod for a good team. Tampa can still do it because of their goalie, but I'm thinking Boston will be there in the end. Still a ways out before the playoffs.

Yep, a hot goalie and team playing well can wreak havoc. All the pressure is on the top team. I have never been a fan of teams resting players and coasting the last several games, it can backfire spectacularly. Hard to get that game edge and mentality back.

Hope all is well with you.

The President's trophy may be more of a curse that a benefit but they are 12 points clear of the next team will finish the season with more than 60 (!) wins and a > .750 win percentage...in the east with 6 teams cracking 90 points. I hope it's the Leafs that get to hang the curse on them and get some payback but wow.

its been 10 years since the president's trophy winner won the cup, and in the past twenty years only two teams have won them both.

And its been since Boston last won that the vezina trophy winner won the cup as well.

I'd still take the field over boston...but not by much

The presidents trophy has not been kind to the winner if recent history proves correct.

On my way to see the Rangers demolish the Caps today. I’ve never been to Capitol One arena. Madness. 5.5 hr drive both ways to see a hockey game. It it’s my friends 50th birthday and one of our other friends is driving.

Mike's Oilers are actually shaping up purdy good for the playoffs this year. It's looking like Skinner is set to provide average + goal tending, ekblad Ekholm was a real good pickup, the Nuge is having his best year ever, Kane is back and running over people and you know, Driastl and McDavid.

The Western Hockey League playoffs have started. The Regina Pats squeaked in for one reason and one reason only...Connor Bedard. A friend told me that the WHL has made about $1.5 mil this year for no other reason than every building sells out when ever the Pats came to town. Son in law and grandboy went to game one against the Blades, Pats scored 5 to win, Bedard went 2 goals, 2 assists and one of the goals was absolutely end to end, skating through the entire Blades team. He will be 2 weeks shy of his 18 birthday at the draft this year.

Holding our breath in Boston - sooooo much hockey left to play in the 2nd season - but love this team more than any since 2011 and they have a shot - the leadership supplied by Bergeron and Marchand now complimented by goal tending, scoring, D and some size. Loved seeing Marchand go after Pitlick after the cheap shot on Bergeron and loved seeing the coach support the move. That's the kind of sprint that could help them over come the Presidents curse.

Av's .... Played like crap against the wild, but got Dallas. They are looking like the 21 team, The big guys are hurt so it is globetrotter hockey again and any size just kills us. Landy and manson will go a long way to correct that so fingers crossed they can get healthy for the run... Mcdermond would be nice as well.

It looks like Murray is injured...smacked head and favouring a groin, jesus. in some ways it's good, in that they were going to start samsanov anyway so now it's not "instead of" and they'll bring up Woll, who frankly i would have preferred any way.
