Djokovic's the GOAT and an idiot. Many of the excluded Russian players are millionaires who can exert political pressure there, so excluding them is politically and symbolically reasonable.Fair enough….
I saw a report that a Ukrainian Woman player disagreed with the blanket ban and thought those that expressed disagreement with Putin should be allowed.
So where is the line on what abuses your country commits that every citizen needs to be held responsible for?Djokovic's the GOAT and an idiot. Many of the excluded Russian players are millionaires who can exert political pressure there, so excluding them is politically and symbolically reasonable.
Good question. It's certainly subjective and will no doubt stay that way.So where is the line on what abuses your country commits that every citizen needs to be held responsible for?
Only full out war?
Genocide? Internal or external?
Killing gays? Making being gay illegal?
Refusing to accept refugees?
Discrimination on the basis of race?
Selling fast food to fat people?
Seems that it is a very subjective topic. One where people think their own views on what is right and wrong trump the freedom of others.
Another question would be who gets penalised?Good question. It's certainly subjective and will no doubt stay that way.
“Who can exert political pressure” LOL got to be one of the dumbest comments on SA.Djokovic's the GOAT and an idiot. Many of the excluded Russian players are millionaires who can exert political pressure there, so excluding them is politically and symbolically reasonable.
LOL. If I'd recalled you are the anti-vax conspiracy theorist from your 'OMG Heart Attacks' thread I wouldn't have replied. I'm thinking you must have exhausted your creative thinking that way, but here we are.“Who can exert political pressure” LOL got to be one of the dumbest comments on SA.
They can do nothing…
given the risk of arrest on return to Russia, in disagreeing with the war they need to chose their words correctly.
I agree with the Ukrainian player view.
So how do you think it works to renounce your citizenship if you don’t have a second citizenship to fall back on?LOL. If I'd recalled you are the anti-vax conspiracy theorist from your 'OMG Heart Attacks' thread I wouldn't have replied. I'm thinking you must have exhausted your creative thinking that way, but here we are.
As an example of what political influence in Russia --- and elsewhere --- a world-famous Russian millionaire tennis play could exert, renouncing their Russian citizenship would be much stronger sign of disapproval that a statement against war. It'd be all over world press for days and be a poke in Putin's eye.

You are also a cunt, does that mean all Aussies as cunts?JFC Gizzy,
Obviously you weren’t around when change was bought about in South Africa helped in no small part by the International Sporting boycotts, team Exclusions and Protests.
Try asking ya mum.
In summary, Russians and Novax are cunts and should be excluded.
You really are a clueless fuckwit.JFC Gizzy,

On that we agree.I really are a clueless fuckwit.
You're still a cuntOn that we agree.
You seem to have a very limited and one dimensional understanding of the effects and reach of the sporting boycotts, protests, exclusions etc. which went well beyond who was selected in the first 11. Very understandable in your case.

PLEASE NOTE..
Domestic protests and an international anti-apartheid movement eventually pushed the regime to begin negotiations with the head of the African National Congress (ANC), Nelson Mandela, whose imprisonment throughout this period became a symbol for human-rights defenders worldwide.
Agreed. He's the GOAT and an idiot.Still out of the US open.
Good.
if all you can think about is yourself, you should say home and sulk.
He was cagey about his vaccination status for a long while and now seem to be saying that he won't be getting vaccinated rather than he's unvaccinated. The uneducated fool hosted a super-spreader event during early lockdowns, so while he seems fine there is no telling what harm he's done.I thought you lot had him dying a horrible death from Covid-19 because he was unvaccinated? Seems to be as fit as ever.
