globally he is regarded as a bad joke , a cardboard cutout

this is not the issue

media transparency is the issue
That The Big Guy may be compromised is a legitimate issue too.

Hmmmm. Sounds like you think there should be some controls put in place. You know, to protect small businesses from behemoths.

That's kinda the opposite of the "free market" your team claims is always the answer.

Don't worry. We won't tell your teammates.
They want "small government" for all the stuff they like. They want "big government" for all the stuff they don't like.

Twitter has gone down the sewer over the course of this week. I have been busy muting the onslaught of right-wing posters, and thought I was getting ahead in the game. When I opened it this morning, there was just page after page of right-wing posts. Every Republican elected official was there, every right-wing troll, pumping out bullshit. Elmo really has turned it into a heaping pile of shit, and in record time.

"Flood The Zone With BullShit"

That was the plan all along. And at $44 billion (and counting) it is almost certainly not the most expensive right-wing propaganda campaign.

I check it once or twice a day now, since taking the app off my phone. It's turned into a total shitblizzard of right wing hackery. I mute and block so many of them every day now.

After reading an article on some of the pre-Muskrat fuckery that got stopped only by the good judgement of Jack Dorsey, it hit me that there is nothing but the Muskrat's ethics keeping it from happening now. So I deleted the App.

There were few things I trust less than the moral fiber of Elon Musk.

In general I'm trying to cut down on social media. I've got work to do, and it's a big time waster.

Amazing how bad the journalistic work on this is. Even if you write with an agenda, then at least do it properly.

If you want misrepresent something, then at least crop the source material in a way that doesn't contradict your statements or make it look like you cut it, just where it starts to explain the actions taken.

I have a hunch Dog Deux looked like this when he read that Musk was going to spill the beans.

Hopefully, his erection didn't last more than 4 hours.

Many liberals had denied the social media giant was engaging in censorship by using the more pleasant term “content modification.” Now documents show Twitter executives burying “disfavored” views as “visibility filtering” and “amplification” limits.

Calling executives the “head of legal, policy, and trust” (Vijaya Gadde) and the “global head of trust & safety” (Yoel Roth) doesn’t alter their status as some of the greatest censors in history.

Yet the license for this massive system clearly came from Twitter’s very top. Shadow banning and “visibility filtering” are consistent with the policies of ex-CEO Parag Agrawal, who pledged the company would “focus less on thinking about free speech” because “speech is easy on the internet. Most people can speak. Where our role is particularly emphasized is who can be heard.”
