Twitter as a private company can and could do whatever they want. If they chose to tamp down on Hunter hysteria, well that was their right. Plenty of other websites instead hype and hyped it, just a different URL.

It makes you think about the Biden decision to try prevent a massive railroad strike, as a possible simile. In that case there were potentially very serious implications, akin in some ways to the Air Traffic Controllers threatened strike during the Reagan era. And so maybe some functions in society need to be, in effect, ‘nationalized’ for the common good. But that should in no way apply to Twatter given how there are (thankfully) a gazillion other streams you can tune in to. Let these ones stay privately controlled.
