All it took was the two young tanned women on their backs covered in oil just past the clothing optional sign for me so my sample was far smaller than yours.I guarded SD City seasonal summer of 76 after I got out of USN and some of summer 77 before I got picked up in FD. Perhaps your 12 year old libido was easily impressed or I was there on “off days”…..but….nope.
You’re right about the walk in from Shores past Scripps and the tide. There were usually only two, occasionally 3 guards there and at high tide there was no Jeep backup so you were on your own unless the state guards wandered in from the north side. All in all I mostly liked guarding there. Fair number of rescues….which is the whole point…..but very little in the way of good “cookouts” to mooch a little chow.
