Super pure fissionable metals have to be enriched from impure fissionable metals. Given that they don't even officially have those metals it's hard to tell, but apparently, initially Israel mined their own Uranium from the Negev, then bought yellowcake from France's African operations. Then later either got it secretly from Belgium or else got it from South Africa in exchange for nuclear expertise.

Of course, the tinfoil hat conspiracy is that they stole it already enriched from USA stores with nearly zero security. But given the abundance of Israeli nuclear scientists being wooed from Europe and their known enrichment-ready capabilities that seems unlikely ... like suggesting a baker needs to steal bread because hey, doesn't everyone want to steal bread?
