Off Soundings Series and low pressure systems.

The wind died as the back half of the fleet was fighting the current at 1BI.   Many DNFs and many others hung in there until the time limit expired.    By far the latest flags-up time at the party in recent memory.

Saturday was generally glorious, particularly on a boat that reaches well.   RC was quite emphatic that we sail AROUND the island.
Hopefully the RC learned a lesson and included a mark on the other side of the island rather than just being emphatic in their oral announcements.

I heard there was a dismasting today?  any updates?
Magan (J30) lost the top part of their mast above the headstay out by the Ruins. Caliente (Tripp 36) had their headstay pull out.

Those are the only big breakages I heard about.  There were plenty of smaller breakages.

Tomorrow looks like decent breeze. From what I see currently, if we don't finish before 3 on Saturday, there is going to be more drifting/bobbing rather than racing.  At least the rain passed by today.

You all have a new rig in?

No. Insurance company totaled the boat.

I'll be there on a multi hull and the owner will be there on a borrowed J/109.

Paul didn't need you on the 109?  I am nearly fit enough to trim again, so keep in touch.

Boz and I used to crew on a 109 owned by a guy from Guilford...  Think he was an architect?
