OK I got one...

If I have to have reading glasses to see anything closer than about 2', how come when I'm wearing said glasses I can see my eyelashes with razor sharp clarity, reflected perfectly in the lenses? Can't be more than 1/2" away. I'm stumped.

A lens working as a mirror has the same shape and thus the same diffraction as a lens working as a lens. (Assuming the reflection takes place at the outer surface.)
