Where's on the water reporting from Mr. Clean when we need it. NBC's website is lame and so is the Chinese website. Try and find overall standings!

I'm pretty sure before the closing ceremonies occur it will turn out that any of the sailboat 'footage' available on the web was digitally created and represents what spectators would have seen, had the water actually not been on fire.

Oh, and in a stunning development, China sweeps the sailing events.

Of algae perhaps on dinghy junks. This problem which was officially "100% corrected", continues.

U.S. Tornado team measured in a code 0 to use up and down wind. Many other teams are either scrambling or getting upset about that.

U.S. teams are doing well, winning many individual races so far.

Barkow team has said they will stay indoors when not racing due to the hot, humid, polluted air.

Family members of a coach for the U.S. Men's Volleyball team were attacked and stabbed, one fatality.

Winds are usually predicted to be 5-8, though sometimes they are 3-5.

At least the 2012 Olympics will be something to look forward to............if they put the multi's back in the line up.

The USA is doing wonderful so far, based on how little support they get for their training.

The Brits must be pretty malcontent that they are not in first in every event with all that public financing.

That idiot would be me, click on Women's Yngling - Race 07 "rewind" all you want and try and find a Yngling then get back with me. And as others pointed out, overall results are not found at NBC or the Chinese website as they are best found elsewhere.

anyone who hasnt watched the streaming vids (if youre in usa) or found the results page yet is a fucking idiot...
but anyway. WAY TO GO TEAM USA!!!! WHAT A WEDNESDAY!

Barkow- Bullet

Timmy Wadlow- 3 bullets

Campbell- bullet

Anna- still steady and consistent, and still leading!

Also, congrats to my irish brothers for coming through with a bullet in 470's

I bet nancy rios gets it together and makes a charge before this is over also...

besides the finn and yngling, where is this much over hyped british squad???

well hopefully at least sally will (i doubt they will be able to keep carrie away from the bar, but maybe its air conditioned!). lets not kid ourselves, sally aint exactly "fit" at 5'5" and 180lbs

did you really expect nbc to be able to display anything but the final results? sailing.org it aint that hard.

i would rather watch underwater special olympic basket weaving than yngling sailing... worst olympic boat ever

Yeah, the BBC forecast for Weymouth today was for 40 mph winds with gusts into the 50s. Plus it'll be higher inshore.

That should make exciting viewing!

The only course that has extensive TV coverage is the Alpha circle. There are four others that have limited (at best) coverage that isn't in the live feed.

So whatever boats race on the Alpha course that day is what you get.

Unfortunately, the Alpha course has the shittiest wind and the crappiest currents. 5 kts of wind makes for an exciting race (NOT!)

NBC has complete video coverage on their site, it takes a little searching.

If you are up at 1 pm beijing time, its on live with commentary. they are 12hrs out of phase with the eastern US coast, means you'll be up at 1am.

"All that public financing"?? A little lottery funding and that is it. Much less than many, trust me, UK sportsmen do not have it easy.
Smiler,

so specifically which countries have more government funding for sailors than GBR? will trust you much more if you provide a cite for that

thanks,

SL

Can anyone explain why the live coverage has commentary, but the replay version does not?

Whatever the Brits are doing they are doing it right. Nine disciplines and every one of their sailors is in the top eleven.

It was a very good day for the US today.

The Aussies are tearing it up in the 470M, 470W, and 49er.

Qingdao sucks.

nbc nailed the coverage, even if its only one course, but yes, the regatta blows at this venue. i feel really sorry for the sailors from all the countries, and im sure this will motivate them to get back there in 4 years at a real venue.

someone said somewhere that there is a much better venue approx 150mi north of qingdao, with a sailing center, but that some back room deal with chinese buisnessmen brought the sailing to qingdao?
