I'm no English teach, but man, the FP article sucks with typos and misspelling. Where's a good @Editor when you need one? (oh. right. he's enjoying retirement waaaaay too much to be bothered....)

Really liked the front page video of Hamachi blasting through the waves. Showed it to my wife whos only comment after watching it was, "Why is no one wearing PFDs?"

Anyone else find that mildly disturbing?

Nice race Raz'r! I was on Mako. Our crew's first PacCup. Great experience and we learned a ton. We had some nighttime screwups and ended up a bit too far south in the last quarter of the race. Hope to try it again in a few years. It was a tight class to race in. Cheers.

Even though it's the "fun" race, I'm guessing these skippers burn $50k+ on sails, flights, hotels, shipping the boat back, pros (??). Protesting is legit. Dropping out to avoid the room, especially when the only testimony required is "go measure it", is an admission of guilt imo.

I heard one of the boats under 30' without pros spent $60k. So, yes, definitely on the plus side of $50k, unless you already spent the money on sails because you did TransPac recently.

Himachi has at least one pro in Matt Pistay and Ruffless has Skip navigating. THey are both pro's and were paid on the boats I raced with them on so I would assume they were paid on these as well but maybe not...

WTF is the controversy here? A legitimate protest was filed, the protested boat withdrew rather than go through the protest. Me thinks that those who smell a rat should not look at the protesting boat but at the protested boat that didn't have the confidence to defend themselves. Not fucking rocket science and you don't need a degree from Stockholm to analyze it.

Folks love to bitch about conflict.

In other news, the fleet is not setting records getting home. Most are finally flopping onto port to head home, but are headed, even up at 38north... The high is even above that

I’ll raise your 38 degrees to 48, and it’s only slowly moving East. Here’s next Monday

I just made Neah Bay yesterday after a 20 day uphill battle. This was not an ideal delivery. But the boat and crew made it back in one piece so all is good.
