That shot makes the boat look bigger than any other you've posted - it REALLY looks like a 62' in that view.SWMBO LOVES the cockpit. She keeps mentioning it.
That would kind of violate the idea of keeping her very simple........but I bet she would be a reaching machine as a ketch....She has a grand looking hull form.
I'd love to see a ketch-rigged version.
Thanks Kim that was a treat !! Slim and easily driven, she glides through tacks, gaining almost two boats lengths straight upwind !! The weather helm was just right and as Bob had found, she accelerates quickly with every puff, and doesn't pitch much at all in short chop from boat wakes. Great design Bob and so well behaved right out of the box. I was amazed at how little wake there is.I am waiting for photos too!!
I don't have any photos of her sailing, I was aboard her and enjoying the magnificent job Bob did on her design and the lovely sails supplied by Frank and Axel and the great job Jordan did on her build.
She is one sweet sailing boat.
But lets see what WHL has to say. He really trimmed her up with my son Derek and they had her pointing gangbusters.
"Probably"?I think one of the most interesting moments was when we were pacing about a 40' newer C&C and we were hit by a passing ship's wake. The C&C was stopped dead and we just marched along with no effect from the wake at all. Probably just an LOA thing.
I had a good night's sleep. But I did spend about 30 minutes sitting in her cockpit after sunset thinking of my Dad, wish he could have been there for that first sail, but I guess he was there. Thanks for everything Frank, you were a great Dad.Yes, congratulations to all. I bet Kim won't sleep tonight but spend the whole night looking at that amazing boat. .....perhaps with a choice single malt.
