Question Regarding Aussie Power boats

I don't know if this is the right forum, but my daughter and her family live in the land down undah in the Moreton Bay environs.  They saw a power boat in the 6-7 meter or so size range and apparently the sides fold down to make a swim platform. They werevery interested to know more about it.  I cannot find anything like it online other than in the larger yacht size.  Does anyone have an idea what this might be? Thanks from a Yank dad...

Have a look at the list of boats exhibited at this year's Southampton boat show. There were a few boats in the sub-12 meter range with this feature. Didn't really pay any attention to them. Think they were all longer than 6-7m, but possibly the same manufacturers exhibiting at the show have smaller boats in the same range.

Certainly has the fold down sides the OP was curious about.

@Ishmaeldead right! Hybrids have  along way to go to considered useful. I think in 2019, these were the largest selling production boat in the world... Europe can't get enough of them. Places like Australia where distances are greater, they've not taken off in any meaningful way.

In pre-historic times (before Covid) we travelled about 15nm from Gudvangen to Flam along a couple of unpronouncable fjords in Norway on a large, electric-drive catamaran.  From memory, it was longer than 60', could carry well over 100 passengers, and travelled at about 10 knots totally silently.  Presumably it could make the return journey before recharging.  So the Euros are much more advanced with this stuff, and it's a selling point for their business.

Future of the Fjords was the one we travelled on - highly recommended.

The boat reported to me would have been in the Brisbane area, probably around Manly/RQYS or the trailer boat YC next door.  It trailerable and likely around 6-7 meters in length.  I have looked at hundreds of photos of boats for sale in QLD and see nothing like it.  I doubt that someone would transport a boat that size from Europe to OZ. Searching for it has been an interesting rainy day challenge. Actually, given the reach of SA I'm surprised that someone hasn't come along and said something like, " I reckon that's John Symth and his family on his new Origami 6.5!  Here's a pic!
