Bit earlier than that, pretty sure SMB and sistership XLR8 were more around the 2004 vintage
Wasn't XLR8 46 ft rather than 50 ? RP 46?
2004 vintage would have been about right.

The XLR8 sailing out of Sandy 2010ish never seemed to sail to her rating. SMB seemed to do rather better.

Yep, both born RP46's, then SMB got extended to 51 later on.

IIRC SMB 2 was a 46-footer that had the truck smash, written off then reborn as something else - maybe XLR8 or perhaps Decadence? SMB 3 was a 50-something footer and SMB3.5 was the same boat after major surgery due to the R/P design issues in play at the time that caught a few boats. The mini Maxi now known as URM is an ex-Shockwave that had a whole new hull built under the deck and rig.

This is the SMB that had the hull mods a-la URM & Bella Mente of that vintage.
Edit: and yes, that includes stretching it from 47 to 51 in the process.

The SMB that got totalled was a farr 400.

After the Farr 400 there was a TP52.... An old Beau Geste which was previously the 2009 vintage Matador from the super series.

Now they're on to the Pac52 (or rather the Pac53) previously known as Rio.

The SMB RP46 got written off in a start line multi boat smash up at Hammo. That boat was trucked back to Melbourne and repaired but not lengthened afaik. She then sailed on Port Phillip for a while as Shamrock but is now known as as Hartbreaker. XLR8 was a sister RP46, now sailing in Sydney. Dekadence was a DK 46.
