This really highlights the obvious - critical infrastructure should not be understaffed to the point of fragility. The national benefits of maintaining a large enough labor pool for operations to be resilient far outweigh the concentrated benefit of cutting costs to the owners.I think a big part of the problem is not the "4 days" thing but the precise planning / essential worker thing, where they can't call in sick on short notice because the time block planning is too inflexible with too few people available to fill in... which of course saves the corporation a fuck-ton of money.
Those owners have shown they can't be trusted with the responsibility of running the show and are willing to create a national security issue for profits.
