We will never know but my guess is PJ paid someone to gut this boat shorty after they abandoned while the boat was still near its orginal location. Winches,hatches etc don't just unbolt themselves.

Agreed, highly unlikely that PJ sent someone, the fuel alone would cost more than any of that hardware. Hatches can definitely be blown off by weather, but not winches. Winches just dont come off , and every single one of them appears off.

Would be interesting to hear a failure analysis based on what was left. Apparently stainless steel termites have already taken their toll.

Seriously, the Oracle boys finding Rainmaker while on R & R is an amazing coincidence for so many reasons. The sea and the folks who play upon her will never follow the standard script.

I hope they caught a cooler full of Mahi from under that Pseudo-Sargasso raft. We could usually get one or two from something as simple as a floating wooden pallet in the Caribbean.
Read Steve Callahan's account of getting rescued from his liferaft after 76 days by some fishermen off of Marie-Galant who made sure that they caught all the Mahi from under his raft before taking him on board. Steve made sure that they caught the big dominant Bull that had been head butting his salt water sore covered ass for weeks. I think he insisted that his first meal of solid food was from that devil fish who had tortured him for so long. Steve did manage to bag a few along the way with his mini speargun or wouldn't have survived.

Winches are both still there it looks like. The hull doesn't look too bad all things considered. I'd be very curious how she floats once pumped out.
