Other than removing it from the environment, what is the purpose of salvaging that wreck? Insurance purposes? Investigation?

I'm not going to lie. It looked better when I saw it at the Annapolis boat show a couple years ago. It wasn't as disrupted.Winches are both still there it looks like. The hull doesn't look too bad all things considered. I'd be very curious how she floats once pumped out.

How is it that the hatches are all gone? Did GB not use fasteners to secure them? I get that the lids might be blown off, but shouldn't the frames still be in place......screwed and glued........apparently not!

Why is it floating? Is the material itself positively buoyant? Or is there air trapped in the interior spaces?

As I understand it, there is enough air trapped in the honeycomb core to keep it floating at that level.
