How about some context, what where who how?
Hogfish, Mutton Snapper, and Grouper are yummy no matter where you find them or how you prepare them.

Hope that helps!

Does anyone know where to find a reel that holds five miles of line? Or how long it takes to crank it all back in?

I want to catch a snailfish now that I know they exist.

Flaky white flesh. If you didn't know, you wouldn't know. Tastes like whatever you cook it in. Discovery Diving in Beaufort NC maybe still has an annual lionfish roundup in Aug.

Just how good an eat are they? I've heard mixed reviews.

Here is a local recipe that sounds interesting

White Cheddar Popcorn Crusted Lionfish with fire roasted corn& pepper and a Siracha Aioli Drizzle

Serves 2

Roasted corn & peppers

2 ears of corn

1 red bell pepper

2 cloves of garlic minced fine

1/2 red onion diced

1 tsp of butter

Chargrill husked corn on the cob on high heat over a grill until nicely roasted and dark golden and set aside Char red bell pepper the same way as the corn.

Char grill the onion until just beginning to wilt.

Shave the the corn from the husk. Rough Chop the onion and bell pepper.

In a skillet on medium heat melt the butter. Add the roasted vegetables and the minced garlic. Saute for 1-2 minutes to warm thru and roast the garlic. Keep warm

Lionfish

12 oz of Fresh Lionfish (or any white flaky fish) fillet skinless

2 cups of ground Smart Food white cheddar popcorn (blend in food processor until powdery)

1/4 cup Japanese Panko

2 tbsp olive oil

McCormick Cajun Seasoning

In a non-stick skillet heat oil on medium heat

take lionfish filets and sprinkle with cajun seasoning. Press Lionfish fillets into the Ground popcorn-panko mix Saute the lionfish fillets until lightly golden. Set aside and keep warm

Siracha Aioli Drizzle

1/2 tsp McCormick Smoked Paprika

Blend equal parts Siracha and mayo. Can add smoked paprika for a nice smokey warm flavor

Plate-up

place a nice scoop of the Roasted corn in the middle of the plate. Place the Fillets on top of the corn. Due to the smallness of the fillets of lionfish feel free to stack multiple fillets and hold in place with a rosemary stem skewer. Drizzle the edge of the corn with the Aioli. a very faint sprinkler of smoked paprika adds a nice touch
