People are all parking along saddle road in the evening and watching the glow. It's pretty busy when the volcano goes off.I wonder how many people drive to the top of mauna kea to see what it looks like from there. Drove my family up there for 10 minutes and drove back down. Incredible place to stand on a clear sunny day.
Do they close the road up to the telescopes at night to the public?People are all parking along saddle road in the evening and watching the glow. It's pretty busy when the volcano goes off.
How is the wind, is it sending the VOG elsewhere?People are all parking along saddle road in the evening and watching the glow. It's pretty busy when the volcano goes off.
No. Its a public road. There is no gate going up the road to the observatories.Do they close the road up to the telescopes at night to the public?
Winds this morning are pretty light. I don't smell any vog right now. But this afternoon the winds will be back I am sure. How is the wind, is it sending the VOG elsewhere?
Looking at pictures like that makes my head hurt. The enormity of it is so incomprehensible. This is what the Subaru Telescope usually looks at. This is the Pleiades star cluster consists of thousands of young stars. It's also known as the "Seven Sisters," named for the stars you can see with an unaided eye.
