June 15, 2015 marks the ... anniversary of Justice for Janitors Day, a day that commemorates the many historic social justice actions, demonstrations, and events that positioned Los Angeles and the low-wage janitor struggle as a critical chapter in U.S. labor history. On this day, back in 1990, over 400 striking janitors, primarily Central American immigrants, members of Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 399, demonstrated peacefully in an effort to improve the living standards for their families by unionizing their employer International Service System (ISS), the contractor responsible for servicing most of L.A.'s office buildings at the time.
Whew, the passenger airbag on our car is out of order.Public service announcement……I see folks riding around with their feet on the dash quite frequently. It’s a really really bad idea if you have a passenger airbag enabled. A really bad idea. I’ve seen more than one of these over the years.

That looks like a child's x-ray, probably a boy about 6 to 10 years old? Are you sure about the trauma mechanism?Public service announcement……I see folks riding around with their feet on the dash quite frequently. Posted by a local FD (not my old one) on social media as an example why it’s a bad idea. I cannot attest to the veracity of the X-ray. I can attest to the danger of exactly that injury. I must say…it’s usually one or both femurs but hip fracture/dislocations are not rare…..in my local experience anyway. Isn’t it pretty hard to get a complete fracture that high on the femur in a kid though? Most kid femurs I’ve seen are midshaft or lower? That looks like a child's x-ray, probably a boy about 6 to 10 years old? Are you sure about the trauma mechanism?
If you squint, it kinda looks like the current crop of shorthand boats, even an IMOCA...Luger built much better pistols than boats.
