There was no place like the Doghouse. Still miss that place. it was one of a kind. Lots of attitude by the waitresses.

True story.

Was there with family and wife (at the time), she did not receive a spoon in her setting and asked the Waitress for one. Waitress brought one for her, didn't hand it to her, didn't give it to someone to pass over, she BOUNCED it off the table into the general area where my wife (at the time) was seated.

To this day I still admire that Waitress for her intuition.

The stairs in the "Château de la Rochefoucaud", I believe.
There are a bunch of castles along the Loire River in France that are absolutely marvelous, if you are in that kind of architecture. Most of them have stone stairs that are incredible.

One of the most famous ones, are the stairs in Château de Chambord. It is a double helicoîdal stairs: there are 2 flights of stairs entwined together. It was designed by Leonardo da Vinci, who left Italy to live in France, with the king François I as his patron.

Took many a breakfast at the old Doghouse, for a short time my soon to be wife had a job downtown that started way earlier than mine so had some time to kill, got friendly with a couple of cops that came in for breakfast & to play a few games of Asteroids.

A little later when my parents had started their contracting outfit I ran into trouble with parking meters incident, one of those cops recognized me & basically said "hey, this guy is okay, I know him from the Doghouse!
