Rape trial dropped because attacks on the accuser endanger her health?

Where is the naked part of the story coming from?
I thought the testimony was that her dress was pushed up during the rape?

Was there any mention of how she ended up naked?

And who are we blaming for her being drunk?

As I said before, I have no idea who is telling the correct story here, but the reference to 'left drunk and naked in her bosses office' is seeming to imply that all those things were someone elses fault. I thought it was agreed that she got herself drunk, and that she was the one who chose to go into her bosses office?
Is there some suggestion that someone else deliberately got her drunk? Or that someone else pushed her into her bosses office? Or even that someone else took her clothes off her?
From the security guard.

Well she says that she was drunker than she'd ever been?
date rape drugs?

I hope you don't find yourself defending a serial rapist, because that's what you are doing by focusing solely on Higgins.

4 women
one in 2016, one in 2019, one in 2020 and another. Over at least 5 years if it's true.
And they're only the ones we know about.

Seriously, until a trial transcript is available there's a lot of stuff we don't know or have read mixed reporting, or story read stories A B or C (from both)

I have never looked at this situation as a political contest
But in fairness you are an idiot. And, as you called me a 'RWNJ' in the same post, you are full of shit. Remember it was Lefty Lisa that encoraged her to go forward with the case so she could blame the Federal Government. You and your crazy redhead girlfriend look at every subject as a political contest.

We can only hope that your grubby, spiteful insinuation/subtle innuendo does not go unnoticed by the mods.
Like your claim that I was found in breach of rule 69? Well not really, that was just a complete lie - Where as if you simply scroll up, you will see the proof of why are asked that question.
So why are you so triggered, cupcake? Now run along and report me like the gutless anonymous pussy that you are.

reading back to the trial reports, I found the testimony of security quite telling.

There's quite a lot of detail here about whisky or not whisky. Stuff from L's police interview etc
L cant seem to remember whether they were flirting or close that night.

Parliament security guard Nicole Lee Anderson, who was working overnight, told the court on Monday “it was strange for them to be there at the time” and that her workmate, Mark Fairweather, remarked as much to the pair.
Fairweather told the court on Wednesday he could smell alcohol on both Higgins and Lehrmann, but neither was heavily intoxicated. “If they were heavily intoxicated, I would have refused entry, which I’m entitled to do,” he said.
The court heard that Lehrmann had told parliament security he’d been asked to pick up some documents.

The pair were let into Reynolds’ suite, and Lehrmann said the last he saw of Higgins that morning was when he turned left to his desk and “Brittany turned right into the minister’s suite”. Lehrmann said he spent the rest of his time annotating question-time briefs and left after ordering an Uber at about 2.30am.
Police asked why he didn’t speak to Higgins before he left, to which Lehrmann replied: “All I said was, I’m getting what I need, and I’ll do what I need to do, and I’ll head off ... there was nothing in my mind that said to me that I need to be looking after her”.
Anderson told the court Fairweather observed that Lehrmann “seemed in a hurry to get out” upon leaving the building, throwing his temporary pass down as he left.
Fairweather told the jury, Lehrmann “was on the phone, he wasn’t paying attention. I wanted to ask him about the lady and I said, ‘are you coming back?’ and he just replied hastily ‘no’ and flicked the pass onto the desk, and before I could ask him any more, he’d already walked out.”

Anderson said that she went back to the suite to do a welfare check on Higgins, and when she opened the door to the minister’s office, she saw Higgins “lying on her back, completely naked on the lounge”.
“She’s opened her eyes, she’s looked at me and she’s proceeded to roll over in the foetal position facing the desk,” Anderson said.
Higgins alleges she woke to Lehrmann having sex with her on the couch, she was jammed against the back and armrest, crying and couldn’t get him off.

I see the old firm of Dumb and Dumber is back together. Meli agreeing with you sure gives credence to your conspiracy theory. Being an ignorant dumb cunt, you obviously think this has never happened before.

“The subject matter of the paper is indeed sexual assault. Specifically, it is a discussion of the unhelpfulness of attempting to quantify the prevalence of false complaints of sexual assault and a deeper, research-based analysis of the reasons for both false complaints and scepticism in the face of true complaints.”

Looks to me like something that a Juror who believed the accused to be guilty might use to try and sway other members of the panel. A finding of not guilty in such a high profile case would have been extremely embarrassing for the prosecution, the complainant and for those that publicly championed her cause. It would also have made it a hell of lot easier for the accused to begin defamation actions against those that were accusing him, because the truth defense would not need to proven.

So yeah maybe there is something in your conspiracy theory...

You see random this was such a galvanizing case that people like you and meli with a giant chip on your shoulders and an axe to grind with anyone whos political beliefs are not slightly to the left of Joseph Stalin, would NEVER have found him not Guilty, even if she had admitted she made the whole thing up. And do you think that if Meli was on the Jury she wouldn't read anything about the case out side of the evidence tended at the trial? The world most nosy person?

Fark could you imagine being on a jury with her? Being stuck in a room, day after day having to listen to her jaw flapping nonsense for 8 hours? Most people would admit that they did it themselves just to get out of there. IIRC she did once post a dull story about being on a jury. FMD both opposing councils shit the bed during Jury selection if that story was true. It is a pity we will never know if she was or not because she will never read this post, having me on ignore.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
A galvanising case?

No.

Why should it be?

Imagine that. Was drink spiking even mentioned in the trial?

I've had no experience with drink spiking other than what I've read. Wouldn't surprise me that it would be your fall back seduction trick though.

What is it about you far left nut jobs and your hatred of the presumption of innocence?
I am a centrist liberal. Left first appeal much to me.
Perhaps you didn’t know…, rape is a guilty unless you can convince the public otherwise accusation.
Or… if you are a loudmouthed alleged billionaire who lies really effectively…. Then only half of us believe he is guilty

No - I was only asking why it seems to be presented as accepted fact that he left her drunk, naked and alone. I'd only seen her testimony about her dress being pushed up, not the security guards story.

In the majority of drink spiking cases, the only thing that drinks have been spiked with is alcohol. Normally in 30 ml shots by the barman. Given she'd said she'd had 11 drinks at the first bar, and kept drinking at the second bar, I doubt there is any need to assume she was anything other than drunk. Pity she was able to act sober for the security guard, a lot of angst might have been prevented if the security guard had kicked them out when they arrived.

His story sounds a bit like bullshit - but I also confess I've gone back into the office at midnight or later to both sober up and get a bit of work done. Written some good crap in that state occasionally, and complete crap other times.

I'm not sure though that 'fondling a girls leg while ugly' gets to the level of a crime does it?

The drink spiking comment was kinda tongue in cheek. A little taste of the sort of thing that's been tossed around about her.
There were 6 phone calls from his GF after 2am that went unanswered. If you go into work, to actually work, intending to be hours later than expected at home, would you ignore calls from your wife?

That does not suit Meli’s agenda.

If she had been given Rohypnol as idiot would love to think. then BH would have pretty much needed to carried into the building and she would not remember the alleged incident.

Fondling a girl's leg, if not wanted by the girl, is definitely a crime.

FFS, how does anyone not know this?
