BH's lawyers perhaps advised her that the retrial was likely to find BL not guilty. If BL is not guilty, then it would be more difficult for her to sue for compensation. So BH faked the mental health issues to get the trial abandonment.


If BH wanted justice and comopensation, she should have gone to the AFP and only did the interview, book deal and pursuit of compensation after the court case was over.

This is why Jury trials should be banned.
