Price changes I saw one today for 44 but last week nothing under 60 anywhere. Whatever. It’s a project with my sons and I am into reuse where possible. Thanks for everyone’s input as always.
Rebuilding Harken Cam Cleats

I am interested because I have several pre-93 cam cleats and I like the jaw shape and action better than the new style. (I am guessing because search engines are garbage now an I can't find comparison photos).
I can't find anyone mentioning this point, but the jaws in my cleats are more rounded and easier to "drop-in" a sheet without having to pull on it.
Is there *anyone* who can describe or show exactly *what* the difference of the base plate is? They seem to be interchangeable with the red base plate on the carbo cams?

Not spending $1000 on cleats means more money for beer. Boats will always suck up cash, if you have time whatS the problem?

My son took all the pre 93 bases to work and drilled the pivot posts out to accept the new red plastic base gaskets. They have a small machine shop. No problem using the rebuild kits with the older units, when I install I will put tef Nel (sp?) on the inside of the posts and on the stainless screws for isolation as it’s not anodized on the inside any longer,

interesting. I have about a hundred old bases and cams. For years, I have rebuilt 150s while watching sports on the tv.
If they were lightly used but had their plastic eroded away by the weather, Rebuilt ones are just as good as new ones
