Recommended GoPro Set Up?

Looking to get a GoPro. I sail a lot of dinghies or small keel boats. Any recommendations on the best mounts to buy?

Be very careful with the off brand options. They're cheap, but very hit and miss as far as quality goes. Regardless of the mount, use a tether. The handlebar mounts for bikes work well on lifeline stanchions.

Avoid the one that has a rubber ratchet strap. If you sneeze on it, it'll break. Otherwise I've had pretty good luck with the random choices on Amazon. Can't stress enough... Use a tether!

Clamps to almost anything - stern rail, stanchion, backstay, 420 transom... As mentioned previously, use a tether.

Don't do it. You do not need to record every moment of your life. Nobody cares and the not so green server farms sucking the life out of the mighty Columbia are already filled with useless bits that nobdy cares about. Two years from now you will have days of useless video saved somewhere that you don't even remember. Develop your memory instead and cherish those moments. </rant>
