If it's light then Bella Mente has to be up there for monohull line honours, phaedo for multihull line honours for me, handicap win for either Sleeper or Scarlet Oyster

Be interesting to see how Rambler goes this time against Leopard? Last time they raced each other Leopard took the honours. Leopard has made some mods, new sail plan etc. Rambler is packed with the whose who so I suspect she will win this time around. Eyes on Maverick to see how she goes against the TP52's? Pity no Comanche haven't heard boo from TC?

To me R88 was about 3 hours 13 mins faster, in 2015
Quoting the wrong race..! I said the last time they raced, not this race. Leopard beat Rambler at the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup. 2 out of the 3 races over the line from memory

Quote: "Also for a second day running, Mike Slade's well-travelled Farr 100 Leopard 3 beat George David's Rambler 88, the full bore Juan Kouyoumidjian design seeming not to like the light conditions off Costa Smeralda.

Slade is sailing his first Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup in 12 years. "I thought it was time to go and see what went on in Porto Cervo! We've had the most exciting racing," he said.

As to why Leopard has won the last two days, Slade observed: "Rambler is an 88 footer and we have more waterline length. They seem to need 12-14 knots to get their bow up and then they fly. We are probably quicker than them uphill and can hold them under kite in 7-8 knots."

Of today's racing Slade added: "We had a wonderful day. We were very lucky because we went right offshore and there was much more breeze there and we were half a mile ahead when we came together at the top."

No, There are several boats who would have to make catastrophic mistakes in order for that to happen.

The RORC needs to learn some simple things, like posting crew lists. I'd care more about this race if I knew who was sailing on what boat.

I agree! I'm mostly following the little class 40-division because I plan to play on one of them in April, but yes - the whole race would be a lot more interesting if the tracker could show more info for each boat. Skipper name, crew list, class ranking, overall ranking. Shouldn't be THAT hard to make.....(obviously a little late now)

What tracker are you looking at?

TheYB tracker has all the info you asked for except the crew list.

For a bit, Maserati had taken a slight lead, and had a slight edge in speed (23.1 vs 22.8). Now, Phaedo has shot back into a little lead and is holding higher speed (24.5 vs 20.5).

Actually, going back and looking at the tracker, not sure how much of a lead change it was as opposed to different time-points on the tracker. Right now, for instance, the Maserati position is 15 minutes after the Phaedo position, and even though the Maserati position report has them going faster (27 vs 24), the "lead" that Maserati has only represents a difference that a 22knt speed by Phaedo would have to sustain to still be ahead. My guess is the other "lead changes" you are talking about are explained by the different reporting times on the tracker. Still, Maserati is moving along quite well, right now. Be interesting to see what the next point for Phaedo shows them going.
