I think the why now is politics, but more about the O'Reilly, Weinstein etc take downs that are occurring. I predicted on the Weinstein thread that this thing is going to snowball - and Moore got caught up in it.

And I'm glad he did.

My prediction for Moore? He wins, Senate refuses to seat him, and the Gov sends someone else there till there can be a new election.

Then 45 can nominate an AG who hasn't recused himself from the Russia investigation.

How is it in any way mysterious that Roy Moore got nominated by the GOP in Alabama?

The same reason he got elected as a judge again like twice by the same voters despite being removed for going against the law.

The guy is an obnoxious Bible thumping zealot.  These seem to be favorable characteristics for an electorate that has a lot of Bible thumping zealots in it.

Seems like basic math to me.

I joke about Alabama because that’s what I do, but there are a lot of good, decent, intelligent people in Alabama. I only question whether they will show up to vote in sufficient number to defeat this predator. I suspect that they will. We have likely not heard the last of the accusations.

Bad timing like reopening an FBI investigation while absentee voting is going on tends to annoy people.    Justifiably when the investigation concludes there is no evidence.

You are intent over nitpicking the difference between a pedophile and a statuatory rapist. Why you care is beyond me, but you seem to think this is an important point, enough to derail the conversation and throw insults at people for no reason.

So try this:

1) Suggest directly that a poster here, any poster, likes to fuck underaged girls.

Then get back to us on how you do arguing about the difference between that and calling someone a pedophile.
