The Alabama Supreme Court just decreed that the ballot stuffers have a free hand. This is bad for both parties, and for the country. Honest voting should be the bedrock of democracy.

I dunno if it's amazing, I am sadly aware of how strongly anti-democracy many Americans are. But it's also following the scary precedent of allowing courts to decide elections, instead of the voters. Even scarier when you consider the one thing that Trump is doing efficiently is appointing "conservative activist" judges.

While I do see the same danger that you and Sol see, I have also voted there for many years, and those polling volunteers don't screw around there. They'll keep an eye on things.

Actually the paper ballots will be preserved this dealt with electronic records. I can not see why the court would rule that way it sure as hell doesn't cost anything to keep electrnic records. On the other hand the fear lately has been hacking, hard to do with paper. I wonderr if the machines erase after down loading to avoid duplicate input to whearever the totals go?

Well certainly, whether or not he has been found guilty of any felony in the state of Alabama, Roy Moore is guilty of moral turpitude, just based on the facts that he dated young girls when he was in his 30s.

I read the artical. Did you? The paper ballots are not destroyed when scanned.
Perhaps you are confusing destroyed AFTER the election by thinking it is at the time of scanning. That is not the case. Those ballots would be preserved until after the election is certified.
