Sailboard radar reflective?

How to make a sailboard mast radar reflective?  Fill with wads of aluminum foil?

We did just that when carbon masts and booms were first coming on the scene. The layday during the Hook-In and Hold On sailboarding regatta in the VI had a speed run competition and one of the pros from Hawaii was obviously faster yet the police style radar gun was not registering his speed. Aluminum foil in the mast solved the radar signature problem.

Could always make or buy a radar reflector, the Davis type seem the most visible within reason. (that is the 2 plate round aluminum one)

Don't bother. They are too busy to be hauling traps to be looking at radar, even though nearly everyone will have a Furuno dome.

Is it windy enough to use a sail board in foggy weather?

attached to the top of the sail at the leach  put in some grommets and then zip tie the reflector to t he sail

Having a Light Grey boat, cruising Penobscott in a "forestay fog", you find that people do interesting things, some will run the narrow passages on an autopilot without a lookout, and others will anchor in the channel.

Not quite as scary as threading Woods Hole in a strong current and fog, but right up there.

Maine lobstermen travel?

I would recommend a red or orange sail as being more effective.  Lobstermen are not the only boaters you should be concerned with.   And the boaters you should be most concerned with won't have radar.  Just my thought having lived and boated in Maine for the past 50 years.
