Until they get legit pros onboard, and clearly articulate a business plan that includes winning here and there - it's a clownshow. There is currently nothing of value to invest in. Hopefully that changes.

Am still willing to chip in $500 just for the possible 'insider' entertainment value and I think I saw there is some change where one can now get a 'ticket' of some kind even down at that price level. But the whole thing looks like a clownshow so far, so will likely will not bother with even that. Again, I suppose it's possible some rich guy will buy basically the whole thing.

The SailGP article (posted in the SailGP thread) does show a boat that is nearly ready, presumably it will be on the start line in Chicago just a month from now. Will be interesting to see if that boat goes this direction or, more likely, to some folks from Italy or wherever.

edit: A great boat name might be.....

"Whether you are accredited or nor" looks like they are going to find a nonequity way to get money from the enthusiastic but not that wealthy. Maybe a club with big dues? That's common in philanthropy...all those Circles and bennies at each level.

I do think it would be fun if SailGP introduced a touch of design choices to the teams. Sails, foils, just a touch of something to add even more interest.
